Sweden sending back a 91-year old woman to Ukraine

Posted on September 21, 2011

Over the last couple of years I have become more and more skeptical to the Swedish roughness against people that are fleeing something that violates them and that are trying to find a better future in my country (which I dare to call anyone’s country). The Swedish Migration Board has closed its borders for communication about why they send many people back to a very certain death and the Minister of Migration is pulling the strings without taking responsibility. The Sweden of inhumanity is at the moment prepared to do a very inconvenient deed in the near future and I want to share that with you.

A 91-year old woman, Ganna Chyzhevska born in Ukraine is planned to be sent back to that country. It is remarkable that the Swedish Migration Board is planning to do this with a 91-year old human being. Unfortunately, it does not end here. Ganna is senile and has a poor sight, both deteriorating everyday.
Furthermore, she does not have any relatives in Ukraine, because they are all in Sweden. Sweden can provide her with medical care that will give her peace as she move towards the end of her life, which I do not believe Ukraine can. She would probably face a quicker death.

The handling officers at the Swedish Migration Board has done what they are expected to do and followed the rules, when handling her case. She should be sent of to Ukraine. Of course, that is something that should be done. But Ganna’s case witness of total ignorance of ethical and moral values. Flexibility is something that the Migration Board everywhere should consider.

I demand that the Swedish Government and the Swedish Migration Board is granting Ganna to end her life in Sweden and that she gets the medical care she needs.
I also would like to urge them to stop sending people to areas of the world that organizations such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and more consider not secure.
